Once again, Xbox Game Pass is losing a half-dozen exclusive games from outside studios. If you subscribe to one of the most popular gaming services, you’ll have access to a rotating library of games you may play as much as you like. However, these games don’t stick around forever, so you should play them immediately.

On the other hand, Xbox Game Pass is constantly receiving new games, so the scenario works out very favourably for users, so long as they play the games they want to play before they are removed from the service. The good news is that before the featured titles are permanently removed from Game Pass, all subscribers will receive at least a 20% discount to buy them.
Six games will be removed from Xbox Game Pass after June 30, 2023. The list includes works by John Romero and DJ Max Respect V, Road 96, Matchpoint: Tennis Championships, Olija, Omori, and his Empire of Sin. The games above are being removed from Game Pass’s console and PC versions, a practical difference given that the two subscription models are not identical.

- Matchpoint: Tennis Championships
- Omori
- Olija
- Road 96
While it’s true that Xbox Game Pass occasionally loses games, the service still offers a diverse library of titles across several genres, and new additions and removals are constantly being made. Those who subscribe to Game Pass will consequently always have access to new games, even if that access is transitory.

As a matter of course, the best news is that all of Xbox’s original games are always available through Game Pass. Games like the sequel to one of 2020’s best, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, are easily accessible and will likely remain so in the foreseeable future.

Especially now that Bethesda has once again demonstrated its open-world flagship, Starfield, the space-faring RPG’s early September debut and free availability to all Game Pass subscribers makes Bethesda’s offerings stand out. Those considering subscribing to Game Pass should take note of the games announced in the Xbox Game Showcase since they will most likely be added to the subscription eventually.
It shouldn’t be too much of a concern for subscribers, so long as they keep up with the given roster of available titles and play all the games that interest them, most will ultimately cycle out of availability.
