A few aspects of Venom have become well-known staples throughout the previous 35 years, transcending most character variations and making him one of Spider-Man’s most iconic and beloved enemies.
The identity of the Symbiote’s human host is a constant in the series. There have been several hosts for the Venom Symbiote over the years, including Flash Thompson, Mac Gargan, and even Deadpool, but Eddie Brock is by far the most prevalent and well-known. Venom in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 isn’t Eddie Brock, though; that’s an Insomniac Games surprise.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will be released on October 20, 2023, and Insomniac Games’ Creative Director Bryan Intihar made a surprise visit at Summer Game Fest to show off some brand-new concept art.
Intihar, though, had more news to share at Summer Game Fest. Intihar stated in a short interview with host Geoff Keighley that Eddie Brock will not play Venom in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Even though Intihar didn’t say who would be wearing the suit, the game’s hints and one of the new pieces of concept art seem to indicate a particular host.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2’s Venom Is Clear Already
Insomniac Games
For the past five years, many viewers have believed that they know who Venom is from Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. In the 2018 instalment of Marvel’s Spider-Man, players discover that Harry Osborn has mysteriously gone on a “trip” after receiving a diagnosis of grave sickness.
After the credits roll, the player learns that Norman Osborn’s penthouse apartment included a secret lab where Harry had been left floating in a tank filled with green liquid and an unsettling black ooze that seemed to move on its own. Spider-Man fans following the franchise for a while would recognize the black slime as the Symbiote, the alien parasite that eventually forms Venom.
Behold the plethora of game-related tidbits we have bestowed upon our website:
More information about Harry Osborn’s current condition is hinted at in the post-credits sequence of Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Norman Osborn rushes into the lab to demand his son’s release, despite Dr Curt Connors’s warnings.
The Symbiote appears to have entirely mated with Harry as it reaches out to cover the first-person camera as Norman approaches the pane of glass. Many viewers saw this as conclusive evidence that Harry Osborn would play the role of Venom’s host in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
The likelihood that Harry Osborn will don the Venom costume in this dimension has increased after Bryan Intihar confirmed that Eddie Brock would not be playing a role in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Another piece of evidence has emerged that suggests this result.
The battle between Venom, Peter, and Miles is depicted in one of the latest pieces of concept art for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. If you look closely, you can see a billboard for the Emily and May Foundation in the lower left corner of the screen.
This billboard may look innocuous initially, but it refers to two major players in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Harry’s mother, Emily Osborn, passed away from the same illness that now threatens Harry, so the “May” refers to Aunt May. Given that it is the only piece of text visible in the whole concept art image, it seems likely that Insomniac placed the billboard there on purpose.
Insomniac Games
Both Peter Parker and Harry Osborn might be in the same picture, which could be a cunning, subtle hint towards the identity of Venom if Insomniac wants fans to notice it. Or, if Insomniac wants to throw fans for a loop, it might be Norman Osborn donning the Venom suit, and the Green Goblin was only a red herring in the previous games.
On October 20, Spider-Man 2 will be released for the PlayStation 5. Make sure to save our website, americantechjournal.com, in your favourites so you never miss out on the latest and most significant News updates.
