Meta has officially introduced a new gaming subscription service called Meta Quest Plus, which will provide owners of its VR headsets, such as the Meta Quest 2 and Meta Quest Pro, with two VR games each month for a monthly or annual price.

The new Meta Quest Plus subscription gives the Quest platform its first Xbox Live Gold and PlayStation Plus Essential-like service. It’s slightly more expensive than both memberships, costing £7.99 per month or £59.99 annually (a 37% savings). Still, Meta is running an introductory offer until July 31st, where you’ll only pay £1 for the first month if you want to sample before you purchase.
Meta Quest Plus subscribers will receive access to the physical action-rhythm first-person shooter game Pistol Whip (£22.99, Oculus.com) as well as the arcade adventure Ready Player One-style game Pixel Ripped 1995 (£14.99, Oculus.com) during the first month.
The social VR game Walkabout Mini Golf (£10.99, Oculus.com) and the weapon-crafting frenetic shooter action game Mothergunship: Forge (£14.99, Oculus.com) will be available to subscribers in August.
You can retain the VR games for as long as a subscriber. If you re-join later, you can play the games you downloaded during your original subscription period.
In a blog post, the business stated-
“With a mix of VR’s biggest hits, hidden gems, and back-catalogue classics, this is the most cost-effective way to add killer content to your library.”
The subscription comes just weeks after the business offered a first look at its all-new Meta Quest 3 VR headset, which will be available this autumn and was disclosed by CEO Mark Zuckerberg literally minutes before Apple unveiled its Vision Pro headset. You can now subscribe to Meta Quest Plus through the Meta Store.
