Microsoft is beginning the process of integrating iPhone syncing with Windows 11. The business declared today that starting this week, the Insider preview of Phone Link would support iPhones. The function, which has gone by numerous names, has been compatible with Android phones since 2015.
Just calls, texts, and contacts from your iPhone will be synchronized with a Windows 11 PC in the initial beta. (These will appear as standard Windows notifications.) There are certain restrictions, though: Group message replies won’t be supported, and sending media in messages is also not supported.
Even so, it represents a significant advancement for a feature that has previously been inaccessible to the vast majority of users of both Windows PCs and iPhones.

Not All Windows Insiders Will Initially See The Choice
Microsoft specifically warns that not all Windows Insiders will initially see the choice and that it will only trickle out to “a small percentage” of Insiders this week.
When it gets input from the initial group of testers, the corporation will instead extend the preview to more Insiders. Also, since access is cloud-based, there won’t be a unique Phone Link app version that allows you to use the preview right away.
If you’re one of the fortunate few accepted, the Phone Connect app will offer you the chance to link your iPhone. After you select it, instructions on how to connect your phone and computer over Bluetooth will appear (including scanning a QR code). To make sure everything syncs, you’ll also need to confirm a code and authorize access on both the Windows and iOS sides.
The function is similar to Intel’s Unison program, which enables file transfers, calls, texts, and notifications between phones (including iPhones) and Intel Computers. Since many years ago, third-party applications like AirDroid have provided comparable capabilities.
