War Machine Don Cheadle Said He Had Just Two Hours To Decide Whether Or Not To Join The MCU: Don Cheadle, who has portrayed James Rhodes/War Machine in the MCU since 2010’s Iron Man 2, said he was approached by Marvel while at his child’s birthday party and asked to sign a vague six-movie contract.
According to Variety, Cheadle was talking to GQ magazine when he shared the tale of how he replaced Terrence Howard as a War Machine and gained a position in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Cheadle stated, “I was at my child’s laser tag birthday party. “They called me and explained what was going on and that they were making you an offer. If you decline, we’ll move on to the next person. This will occur pretty quickly. Take an hour to consider whether you want to do it. It came with six films! I must make a decision in one hour.
While Cheadle was aware of Iron Man 2, he didn’t receive any additional specific information about the films he would be appearing in.
You must either answer yes or no since it will involve these Avengers, according to Marvel.
Marvel responded, “We don’t know any of that, but this is what it is so you’ve got an hour,” when Cheadle inquired about his character evolution over these films.
Early in 2023, the first MCU animated series will return for a second season. This new season will have heroes and antagonists from the MCU’s multiversal universes, including Captain Carter, Steve Rogers as Iron Man, Black Widow, Hela from Thor: Ragnarok, Young Star-Lord and Ego, The Scarlet Witch, Mandarin, and more, it was revealed at San Diego Comic-Con 2022. In the preview, Thanos was also seen clashing with Captain America from Infinity War. <br>
A nod to Neil Gaiman’s 2003 eight-issue miniseries Marvel 1602, which follows Marvel superheroes who operate in the Elizabethan era, including Nick Fury, the X-Men, the Fantastic Four, Spider-Man, Doctor Doom, and others, was made when the final section of the preview also revealed that it takes place in the year 1602.
Peyton Reed, the director of the second Ant-Man film, will lead the third Ant-Man film, which will once again feature fan favorites. The cast of the movie includes Michelle Pfeiffer as Janet Van Dyne, Evangeline Lilly as Hope Van Dyne/Wasp, Michael Douglas as Dr. Hank Pym, and Paul Rudd as Scott Lang/Ant-Man. As Cassie Lang, Kathryn Newton joins the cast, and Jonathan Majors plays Kang the Conqueror.
We got our first true glimpse at Majors Kang, MODOK, and even Bill Murray in the highly awaited movie at the Marvel panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2022.
Phase 5 of the MCU will begin with the release of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania on February 17, 2023.
In September 2020, Variety claimed that Kyle Bradstreet (Mr. Robot) would write and executive produce a new Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) series for Disney+ that would see Samuel L. Jackson reprise his role as Nick Fury.
Ben Mendelsohn from Captain Marvel will also star in this adaptation of one of Marvel’s most famous comic book storylines, which explores a faction of shape-shifting Skrulls who have been infiltrating Earth for years. Kevin Feige confirmed the series in December 2020 and revealed that Talos, a Skrull, will be played by Ben Mendelsohn from Captain Marvel.
The planned cast also includes Kingsley Ben-Adir, Olivia Colman, and Emilia Clarke. Samuel L. Jackson appeared in the first image of the next series from Disney+ Day 2021 as a beard- and eyepatch-free Nick Fury.
Those in attendance at the Marvel panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2022 got to see brand-new footage of Nick Fury exiting a spaceship and Maria Hill reading him the Riot Act for deserting Earth. Rhodey from Don Cheadle also made an appearance, while Cobbie Smulders, who plays Maria Hill, hinted that this season will be thrilling since you “won’t know who’s Skrull and who’s human.”
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 was formerly intended to be the first, if not one of the first, movies of Phase 4 prior to James Gunn’s brief firing. The next Guardians movie will now premiere in Phase 5, with James Gunn directing The Suicide Squad for DC before Vol 3.
The first trailer for the Guardians trilogy’s climax was shown to attendees during Marvel’s presentation at San Diego Comic-Con. We also see Gamora scurrying across a part of the Ravagers as Peter Quill/Star-Lord approaches her, along with Maria Bakalova’s Cosmo the dog.
Quill is reminded by Gamora that the Gamora he once loved is now gone. The trailer finishes with a query about Rocket Raccoon’s origins and includes shots of a huge boy Groot and a little Rocket Raccoon. Chukwudi Iwuji shocked the panel when he showed up at the panel dressed as the High Evolutionary.
In December 2022, Marvel then unveiled the first official trailer for the follow-up. On May 5, 2023, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will hit theatres.
Due to his attendance at his child’s birthday celebration, Cheadle was able to reduce the deadline to two hours.
After two hours of playing laser tag, Cheadle stated, “I was chatting to my wife and thinking about it. We went to my agency and tried to obtain as much information as we could.”
Given that Cheadle has been a supporting actor in the MCU for 12 years and is getting ready to take the lead in the upcoming Armor Wars film, it was undoubtedly a wise choice on his part.
He is “rising out of Tony’s shadow and becoming his own person in every succeeding film,” Cheadle remarked. But we haven’t really delved into that and explored who he is yet. That is the purpose of the film.
Originally planned as a Disney+ series, Armor Wars will now be released as a feature film in 2023, according to reports.
