On February 8th, Google will host a streaming event called Live from Paris that will be all about “Search, Maps and beyond.” This event is scheduled to be livestreamed on YouTube. Google has confirmed that it will hold this event. According to the description, “We’re rethinking how people search for, explore, and engage with information,” with the goal of making it more natural and intuitive than ever before to locate what one is looking for.
It is hoped that the “beyond” section will provide additional insight into the company’s ambitions for a ChatGPT competitor. Yesterday, during Google’s earnings conference, Pichai finally addressed the company’s own intentions for an AI chat system.
These plans have been in the works for quite some time. “We’ll make these language models available, starting with LaMDA, so that people can engage directly with them in the coming weeks and months,” he added. “This will begin with LaMDA.” These artificial intelligence technologies will also be made available to enterprises, developers, and the internal operations of Alphabet, according to Google’s plans.

It was alleged that Google CEO Sundar Pichai issued a “code red” warning regarding OpenAI’s ChatGPT last month owing to the possible threat it poses to Google’s dominance in the search industry. Notably, Microsoft is a significant investor in ChatGPT, and the company intends to include the AI into its Bing search engine in order to provide results that are easier to grasp and appear more human.
It was rumoured that Google intended to demonstrate its artificial intelligence (AI) technologies at its annual I/O event, which takes place in May on average. However, it’s feasible that the corporation wants to move ahead of any accusations that it’s behind OpenAI in the battle for natural language chatbots. This would be a good reason to do so.
On the other hand, it’s possible that the event would solely concentrate on essential products like Search and Maps, which are utilised by a large number of people. Above, there is a thumbnail that Google has provided that seems to hint at news on Lens, Shopping, and Translate. On February 8 at 8:30 AM Eastern Time, there will be a livestream of the event available on YouTube.
