Silent Hill 2 Remake Is Planning To Faithfully Stick To The Original Story: While upgrading outmoded gameplay elements, the creator of Konami’s Silent Hill 2 Remake “faithfully” adheres to the tale of the original game.
Bloober Team’s chief marketing officer, Anna Jasiska, assured that the development team isn’t “losing the point” with the remake in an interview with Dread XP (which Siliconera picked up on).
In the updated Silent Hill 2, “We are aiming at bringing the distinctive, visceral vibe back,” stated Jasiska. “While we’re livening up the title, longtime supporters shouldn’t worry that we’ll lose the purpose.
“While overhauling the gameplay and modernizing the aesthetics from the ground up, we scrupulously adhere to the conventional story canon. These are the reasons Konami originally trusted us with the remake.
When Konami first revealed the remake, it wasn’t entirely obvious what would alter; director Mateusz Lenart simply said that Bloober Team will “create everything that made the game a timeless classic.”
Jasiska emphasized how dedicated the group is and that they “take a very safe approach to any adjustments.” We stick with the original title. Nevertheless, we are making changes to some places where the passing of time has necessitated modernization.
The addition of the over-the-shoulder viewpoint is one change, but the Silent Hill 2 Remake will also have new challenges and modernized sound design. But since there isn’t yet a release date for the game, players will have to wait to learn what else has changed.
