E3 2018 will not see Nintendo’s presence, since the company has decided to skip the event. In a statement provided to Engadget, Nintendo said that the company evaluates its participation in any event on a case-by-case basis and is constantly thinking about the many different ways in which it might interact with its devoted customers.
This year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) did not work with our schedules, thus we have decided not to participate in it. Notwithstanding this, the Entertainment Software Association (ESA) and the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) have and will continue to count on our unwavering support.
Nintendo is known to have a presence on the showfloor at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), and in addition to holding a Direct, the company frequently airs Treehouse broadcasts during the course of the event. Both the traditional version of the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in 2019 and the all-digital version in 2021 were attended by the corporation. Both 2020 and 2022 passed without an E3 taking place.
Sony And Microsoft Also Won’t Be Part Of E3 Along With Nintendo
IGN made the announcement earlier this month that Nintendo, Microsoft, and Sony would not be attending this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3). Since 2018, Sony has not had a representation at the event; nevertheless, neither Sony nor Microsoft has publicly revealed any intentions for the upcoming iteration of the competition.

Nonetheless, Microsoft’s large annual showcase will take place in the summer in the city of Los Angeles. Phil Spencer, the CEO of Microsoft Gaming, recently dropped a clue that it will take place close to the same time as E3, which is scheduled to take place between June 13 and 16.
Even if it is not officially tied to the exhibition, there is still a possibility that Nintendo will broadcast a Direct during the middle of June. With this week’s lacklustre State of Play stream, there has been talk that PlayStation is preparing a significant presentation in front of the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3).
Even the absence of one of the major three console makers from E3 is a setback for the Entertainment Software Association (ESA), let alone the absence of all of them. There is a possibility that Summer Game Fest will steal even more of the spotlight from the long-running event. Yet, on the bright side, at least Ubisoft will be present at E3.
