Carol Danvers was finally intended to be added to the cast of heroes, according to a Marvel’s Avengers source who discovered language for Captain Marvel and She-Hulk in the game’s 2.72 patch files.
The delivery of Marvel’s Avengers’ final update and the conclusion of the game’s support cycle were both announced by Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix last week.
Although it has long been rumored that Marvel’s Avengers development would conclude in 2023, most gamers at least believed that at least some of the rumored characters would eventually become playable.
It appears that we weren’t far from witnessing that occur. Captain Marvel and She-outpost Hulk’s banter audio lines were recently found by Marvel’s Avengers insider mmmmmmmmiller in the files of Patch 2.7.2, suggesting that they were the upcoming two characters set to be included in the game. She-voice Hulk’s actor earlier hinted that she was coming, so we already knew she was coming, but Captain Marvel was never properly stated.
🧵 Patch 2.7.2 of Marvel's Avengers includes outpost banter between Jane Foster and 3 other heroes—Winter Soldier, She-Hulk, and Captain Marvel. All of Jane's lines are recorded and done. Bucky is "finished" but there's an error I list below, while Jen and Carol are both TTS.

In a lengthy Twitter thread, Miller emphasized the audio lines that would play while interacting with characters in an outpost. It’s important to note that She-Hulk and Captain Marvel presently only have text-to-speech lines. Even yet, the fact that they are included in the game’s files suggests that the two heroes were the next to be included.
The conversations in the thread are numerous, but some stand out: Jennifer and Jane discussing the idea of an Avengers gaming night (if Bruce can control his rage) and Carol acknowledging that Maria Hill’s pet isn’t a real cat. Even the voice actress for She-Hulk, Krizia Bajos, commented on the post, saying it was good to be recognized for work that was never made public.
