The world now knows that Gina Rodriguez has welcomed a great person: her first kid. The Jane the Virgin star and her husband, Joe LoCicero, have welcomed their first child, according to a representative who spoke with PopSugar. The name and gender of the newborn were not revealed.
The couple has also been tight-lipped about other aspects of their relationship. On Saturday, Page Six published images that it had received showing Rodriguez strolling about Los Angeles with the baby in a carrier.
On her 38th birthday in July, fans heard that popular singer/actress Gina Rodriguez was expecting her first child. She said, “This birthday hits differently,” as the caption for her Instagram post.
Since then, the actress has been documenting her pregnancy with photos, including a beautiful outdoor maternity shoot with LoCicero. She continued to share images of herself outdoors in early December, this time with her clearly visible pregnancy belly.
After being hitched in May of 2019, the happy couple just completed three years of marriage. “Mia, my niece, who is nine years old, likes to say, “With just one kiss we got 100 new family members.” I’d want to thank my future mother-in-law for giving me the wedding of my dreams.
And her supportive community at large!
“The actress made the announcement on Instagram at the moment, sharing a heartfelt post about the happy couple. “The fourth of May this year was a magical day. I pledge eternal love and devotion to my spouse Joseph.”
Rodriguez sent her former Jane the Virgin co-star, with whom she worked on a guest basis, a social media tribute in May:
“We’ve been married for 3 years, and my dearest friend is still by my side. You have arrived.”
When ET asked the expecting mother in August about the couple’s upcoming child, she said,
“This has piqued my interest tremendously. To put it simply, I am ecstatic.”
Around this period, the celebrity was busy making preparations for her upcoming arrival.
“I’m doing some serious pregnancy lessons, working on that pelvic floor,” she told ET. “To be more specific, my husband is undergoing doula training to become my doula. He’s on a whole other level.”
