Destiny 2 Unlocked Every Non-Raid Armor Mod Starting Today

Destiny 2 Unlocked Every Non-Raid Armor Mod Starting Today: Lightfall is only a few weeks away, and Bungie has only really given us the broad strokes of what to expect in the upcoming expansion outside of a few teasers and interviews. The majority of the specifics of what will happen to Destiny 2’s sandbox are still unknown, but yesterday’s tweets put an end to that.

The biggest news concerns armor modifications, and the consequences won’t even be felt until Lightfall. All common, non-raid armor modifications are now available to everyone.

That eliminates the requirement for new players to check in with Ada each week to see what she’s selling. You will get access to every armor modification that veterans have had for a long time, and you may start building right away.

There were a couple of additional announcements from Bungie. Engrams for Trials of Osiris, Iron Banner, Crucible, and Gambit weapons and armor will only cost 25 Legendary Shards apiece starting the following week. For Trials of Osiris, adept weapon focusing will also be limited to just 50 Legendary Shards.

Bungie promised a Grandmaster power cap structure that is “more reachable for all players, while keeping some of our most demanding content,” with Grandmaster Nightfalls launching on January 17.

As a preview of things to come in Lightfall, we have some exciting updates coming soon.

Tomorrow, all standard Armor Mods are unlocked for everyone! With big changes coming to buildcrafting in Lightfall, we want to give everyone a chance to enjoy all mods in their current state.

On the Destiny 2 subreddit, fans have generally reacted favorably to the revelation, with some considering the armor charges to be the first indication of an upcoming rework of the armor system in Lightfall.

Fans have expressed dissatisfaction with the current armor mod system, which frequently necessitates total rebuilds if players wish to attempt something else with the armor they have already masterwork. Let’s hope the future expansion takes care of that.

On February 28, Destiny 2 Lightfall will be released.
