On Sunday, Crunchyroll reported that the original Atelier Ryza game would be getting a TV anime adaptation. Confirmation of the series launch in the summer 2023 anime season came with the streaming of a trailer as part of the Atelier 25th Anniversary Program #5.
The Atelier RPG series, developed by Gust and Koei Tecmo, has been ongoing since Atelier Marie’s 1997 Japanese release for the original PlayStation. The original game, which was exclusive to Japan, will soon receive a global remake.
The 21st game in the series, Atelier Ryza: Eternal Darkness & the Hidden Hideout, is the first in Ryza’s ongoing arc in the Atelier games. It was released in the fall of 2019. In January 2021, an English translation of Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends & the Hidden Fairy would be released.
The first Ryza game is getting adapted into an anime, and it was just announced. The uploaded teaser trailer introduces viewers to Ryza, along with her companions Lent and Tao, and provides a release window for the summer of 2023.
KOEI TECMO AMERICA, which has its account status confirmed, has recently shared some more information on Twitter regarding this very same circumstance:

Actress Yuri Noguchi, who voiced Ryza in the games and will do so again in the anime adaptation, was also featured in a brief interview posted by Aniplex.
Several of the game’s voice actors have also been confirmed to reprise their roles in the anime adaptation. Performers like Hitomi Owada (Klaudia), Takuma Terashima (Lent), Yui Kondo (Tao), Hirofumi Nojima (Empel), and Haruka Terui (Lila) are among them.
Emma Yuzuriha will helm the series for Liden Films, the production company behind the show. Yoshihiro Takahashi, the game’s writer, will return to write the anime’s script, while Tomoyuki Shitaya, the man behind the Toridamono designs, will use those as inspiration for the show’s characters.
First and foremost, the series will include music composed by Kazuki Yanagawa, who has already worked on the previous Atelier series.
Ryza has more than just one anime coming up soon. Atelier Ryza: Alchemist of the End & the Hidden Key, the third game in her series, will be released on March 24. The release date of February 22nd, when the game was supposed to be available, was pushed back.
