For the past six years, Xbox Game Pass has been hailed as one of the best offers in gaming, giving over 100 video games for a fairly cheap monthly fee. However, while the value of the Xbox Game Pass has always been good, it has obviously fluctuated throughout the years, and the previous few months are only the most recent and visible examples of this pattern.
Though 2023 has seen a lot of amazing games arrive on Xbox Game Pass, ranging from ports of classic games such as Persona and Age of Empires 2 to day-one third-party releases such as Atomic Heart and Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, these releases are few and far between.
Unfortunately, the majority of Xbox Game Pass’ monthly production this year has been a little disappointing, but that might all change on June 11, when a slew of exciting news is expected.
The 11th of June Could Be a Watershed Moment for Xbox Game Pass

Since its debut in June 2017, Xbox Game Pass has been a prominent focus of every one of Xbox’s Summer showcases, as well as nearly every other event the company conducts. The phrase “Available day one on Xbox Game Pass” has become synonymous with Xbox’s showcases, frequently preceding or immediately following an explosive revelation. And, over the course of an hour-long demonstration, fans may hear this phrase a few dozen times, and that kind of brand repetition only serves to reinforce Xbox Game Pass’ value.
On June 11, Xbox will have its annual games showcase, and it seems safe to anticipate that Xbox Game Pass will be prominent once again. Following the underwhelming launch of Redfall on Xbox Game Pass, it’s highly likely that Xbox will want to push Game Pass even harder than ever before, revealing a slew of new games coming to the service over the following 12 months.
While many of these Xbox Game Pass titles didn’t launch in their promised windows during the previous Summer showcase in 2022, it’s still a strong marketing tactic, and it’s a great way to convince subscribers that there’s an incredible amount of value in Xbox Game Pass.
While the contents of the next Xbox Showcase have not been fully confirmed, there are a few exciting titles that are nearly certain to appear. Forza Motorsport is one such title that could get a 2023 release date at this forthcoming event. The long-awaited Fable reboot will also make an appearance.
Obsidian’s new, enigmatic RPG Avowed, which was initially exhibited over three years ago, is also a likely candidate for Xbox’s June 11 Showcase. Lies of P may or may not appear as well, as its publication date is still set for August at the very least.
Xbox has also stated that Bethesda’s highly anticipated Starfield would receive its own special launch shortly following the Xbox presentation, leaving plenty of room for other games to be highlighted in the prior presentation.
Those four titles will keep many Xbox Game Pass customers pleased, especially if they receive guaranteed release dates. However, some fans may require a few more announcements to be convinced that Xbox Game Pass has a worthwhile lineup ahead of it.

Last year, Xbox’s Showcase revealed 22 unique games coming to Xbox Game Pass, and if Xbox wants to rectify the wrongs of Redfall, it’ll need to do the same this year, if not go above and beyond.
