“40K” Warhammer Despite being set in the grim, dystopian year 4100, the impending first-person shooter (FPS) Boltgun has a mid-1990s aesthetic. What we know about the game’s release date, design, and developer, Aurochs Digital, is outlined below.
“40K” Warhammer In Boltgun, players adopt the role of a ceramic-armored Space Marine who must eliminate swarms of Chaos Space Marines, cultists, and daemons. The vintage aesthetic harkens back to the 1990s, specifically classic shooters such as Doom, Quake, and Unreal.
When Will the Warhammer 40,000 Boltgun Be Available?
Only the Warhammer 40k Boltgun’s release date of “in 2023” was revealed on Steam by developer Auroch Digital.
Warhammer 40k Boltgun Trailer
The Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun trailer is a tribute to 1990s video game nostalgia. The program begins with live-action footage of someone removing taped boxes from an otherwise empty bedroom. The contents of a large box labeled “JAMIE’S STUFF 1999” are their parents’ old childhood mementos.
As they open it, they discover a stack of White Dwarf magazines on top of a magic 8 ball, a slinky, and a crate of 1990s Chaos Space Marine models. A few Space Marines and a Land Raider vehicle are extracted from 1998.
Finally, a blue floppy disc is produced for Warhammer 40k: Boltgun: The “save” icon was created to invoke the image of a floppy disc, which could store one megabyte of data and was used to distribute software and transfer files between computers.
Even though Warhammer 40k: Boltgun did not exist until today, it has a strikingly 90s aesthetic, replete with pixel graphics, low-poly 3D environments, chaotic gunplay, and a heavy metal soundtrack.
Warhammer 40k Boltgun Weapons
The following Warhammer 40K Boltguns were depicted in the trailer or are playable in the demo:
Boltgun
The “boltgun” or “bolter” is the weapon of choice for Space Marines. The bolter, which resembles an assault rifle, launches rocket-propelled grenades that explode upon impact. Because of this, it destroys its prey so spectacularly.
Infrequent enhancements can temporarily boost the boltgun’s damage output. As long as there are Kraken bolter shells in the magazine, the cannon will continue to acquire power.
Space Marine Revolver
As an effective weapon should, the Space Marine shotgun makes quick work of enemies in close quarters. Because it can only be reloaded one shell at a time, it’s not ideal in a crisis, but it’s perfect for taking out close opponents.
Meltagun
The microwave beam of the meltagun can superheat metals and liquids over a limited distance. This weapon is lethal against armored vehicles. The teaser suggests that its projectiles disseminate a cloud of flaming debris.
Chainsword
At the very conclusion of the trailer, the player character can be seen slashing a cultist across the face with a chain sword using his left hand. Chainsaw swords, also known as “chainswords,” are exactly as they sound. Chainsword is a trustworthy secondary weapon.
Plasmagun
Energy-intensive weapons, such as the plasma cannon. It has a slow but lethal fire rate. This weapon poses a grave threat to your Space Marine hero, as both traitorous Guardsmen and cultists can employ it.
