Konami has released a new trailer for Super Bomberman R 2, explaining the game’s release date, pre-order information, and the recent fight modes that will be available.
The Bomberman series, first released in 1983, has become a popular mainstay for gamers worldwide, with many releases throughout the years, not just games. There are also several anime and manga depictions of our favorite mechanical brothers.
With that in mind, it’s no surprise that Konami is following up the smashing Super Bomberman R with what seems to be a bombastic sequel.
When is the Super Bomberman R 2 Release Date?
The digital version of Super Bomberman R 2 will be available on September 13th. Those wishing for a physical release won’t have to wait long, as boxed editions will be available the next day, September 14th.
This year celebrates the 40th anniversary of Bomberman initially appearing on our screens in Japan before becoming a household name with the following releases on various platforms.

Which Consoles and Platforms Can Play Super Bomberman R 2?
Fortunately, no one will be left out since Super Bomberman R 2 will be available on all major platforms, including the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X, and PC. Super Bomberman R 2 also supports cross-platform play, so you won’t run out of people to play with or lose out on the fun with any of your buddies.

Super Bomberman R 2 Gameplay and Story Details
R 2 appears to be the most content- and feature-rich Bomberman product to date. The battle modes “Standard,” “Grand Prix,” and “Battle 64” return from Super Bomberman R.
The most interesting new game is “Castle,” which divides 16 players into an Attack Side and a Castle Side, pitting them in a struggle for or guarding treasure boxes. Players can also use the built-in editor to construct and share their Castle stages, providing nearly limitless new material.
There is an updated story option for the solo experience, in which we can follow the Bomberman brothers and their new pals, the Ellons, across the universe, visiting new planets full of stages and riddles as they combat the Black Moon, Lugions, and Lugibons.
