Take-Two Interactive owns the Rockstar Games publishing label, and it is possible that GTA 6 may be released between 2024 and 2025. Please keep in mind that Take-Two Interactive has never officially announced a release date for this game. Rockstar Games has yet to unveil it publicly, and its official name is unknown.
However, it is still known as GTA 6. Some feel that Rockstar’s publisher hinted at the game’s release date during previous earnings calls. According to the business dialogues, Take-Two Interactive plans to produce $8 billion in fiscal 2025.
Rockstar Games GTA 6 Release Date
There is no word on when GTA 6 will be released. Take-Two Interactive, on the other hand, speculated that GTA 6 might be released during the company’s fiscal year 2025, which runs from April 1, 2024 to March 31, 2025. Take-Two’s most recent annual financial report shows a parabolic spike in predicted bookings for fiscal year 2025.
This increase could be due to people’s excitement for GTA 6, but it could also be due to other things. In an interview with CNBC, Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Rockstar game parent firm Take-Two, said that GTA 6 is in the works.

We look forward to sharing more as soon as we are ready, so please stay tuned to the Rockstar Newswire for official details.
“On behalf of our entire team, we thank you all for your support and cannot wait to step into the future with you!”
Leaks from GTA 6
On September 18, 2022, Grand Theft Auto 6 was the subject of what could be the most significant video game leak of all time. A hacker gained access to Rockstar’s network and stole hundreds of assets before uploading 90 GTA 6 videos online.
Rockstar confirmed the in-development video, which featured gameplay, gunplay, and NPCs. It also appears to confirm that the protagonists in GTA 6 will be male and female. (While we’re talking about NPCs, Rockstar filed a patent in 2019 for more realistic and immersive NPC drivers.
The technique, which might be used in Grand Theft Auto 6, allows AI drivers to “define [their] own specific characteristics for traversing road nodes.”
Ten months after the breach, a British teenager was sentenced for his role in a number of hacks, one of which is suspected to be the source of the huge GTA 6 leak.
The GTA 6 Platform
GTA 6 will most likely be released for the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. There will almost certainly be a PC version, although this is not guaranteed. Rockstar’s final two original games, GTA 5 and Red Dead 2 were released on PC at least a year after they were released on consoles. Versions for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One do not appear likely, although nothing has been formally announced concerning the platforms.

GTA 6 Developers
The crew that has worked on every major GTA game since the franchise’s start in 1997 is working on Grand Theft Auto 6. Notably, in August, Rockstar began formally partnering with Cfx. Re, the modding company behind the most popular GTA 5 roleplay servers. It’s unclear whether the crew will produce equivalent content for GTA 6.
Two important developers from the Grand Theft Auto series left Rockstar in the years following GTA 5: Rockstar games co-founder/head writer Dan Houser and former Rockstar North president Leslie Benzies. Houser wrote the majority of the games from Grand Theft Auto 2 through Grand Theft Auto 5, while Benzies has been a series producer from Grand Theft Auto III.
Mike Unsworth, Rockstar’s VP of writing, has also left the company, but given his resignation date (August 2023), his work on GTA 6 may have been completed.
