Apple has made the second developer beta of iOS 17 accessible to developers two weeks after the initial release. Here is a list of all the new updates and features. In beta 2, the latest update screen for iOS 17 is seen for the first time. It was officially included with the initial release of iOS 17, but we didn’t get to see it until an update was released.
It includes the new iOS 17 icon on an inset card and two large buttons at the bottom. One button initiates the update immediately, while the other postpones it until later that night. Apple has always provided two installation options; the new OS only arranges them differently.
Take a look at some video clips of the iOS 17 Beta 2! Tap for AirDrop and a More Rapid Haptic Touch! that are detailed down below-
A New Version of Airdrop
With this beta, AirDrop received Apple’s anticipated new feature, allowing you to initiate an AirDrop transfer by bringing two phones close. It detects a nearby phone using NFC before beginning the transfer.
We tried it with a photo, and it worked flawlessly. On our first iPhone, we opened the photo and tapped the AirDrop button. A new suggestion appeared at the bottom of the screen, instructing us to connect our two phones.

There was visual and tactile input as a ball of light visibly went from the first phone to the second. The photo was transferred after the second phone accepted the AirDrop. We tried it with a website in Safari and our contact card, but neither seemed to function yet. Bringing the two phones together without doing anything worked for transferring the contact card.
The first phone asked if we wanted to share our contact information or receive someone else’s. When we pressed the share button, the other phone did not respond and advised us to wait.

Other Changes in iOS 17 Beta 2
Fitness now has its section in the Settings app, just below Health. It can govern Live Activities, cellular data, and other things. Apple Music’s existing widgets now come in a variety of different sizes.
“Recommendations” is now available in a new medium format, while “Top Charts” is available in small and medium. There is a new option for quick access under Accessibility > Touch > Haptic Touch. Haptic Touch is now nearly twice as fast as the standard option. While we still prefer 3D Touch, this makes Haptic Touch’s speed close to that of 3D Touch.

Crossfade for Apple Music no longer crashes the settings app, and there is now a slider to modify the duration of the effect. When enabled, StandBy can have notifications silenced. Finally, Apple has revised the wording of the new Check-In feature. Whereas it used to say “current location only” and “all locations visited,” it now says “limited” and “full.”
Launching This fall
Apple will release iOS 17 and its other new operating systems later this fall. In July, a public beta will be available. For those seeking to delve deeper into the world of the game, join us on our website American Tech Journal for a plethora of related articles and insights.
