At Summer Game Fest, we saw a new trailer for Honkai: Star Rail, and now we know that the PlayStation 5 version will be out in the fourth quarter of 2023. Honkai: Star Rail is a linear turn-based RPG that can now be played on mobile devices and personal computers.
HoYoverse, the game’s developer, has previously stated that a PlayStation version of Honkai: Star Rail is in the works but will not be released simultaneously with the other versions.
Although Honkai: Star Rail was released in April 2023, this new video is the first update the production team has given on the PlayStation version since the game’s initial announcement. PlayStation fans may wait longer than they hoped for regarding Honkai: Star Rail’s release on PS5.
The PlayStation 5 version of Honkai: Star Rail will release in the fourth quarter of 2023, as confirmed by the game’s video shown during the Summer Game Fest. The trailer otherwise showcases several gameplay segments, including the new addition Silver Wolf from Honkai: Star Rail and the impending boss Yukong.
The fourth quarter of 2023 is still quite a ways off, but by then, Honkai: Star Rail will have seen several significant changes. Therefore, PlayStation fans who create a new account in anticipation of Honkai: Star Rail will have a lot of ground to cover.
Despite reports to the contrary, it seems that Honkai: Star Rail will not be released for the PlayStation 4. The PlayStation Blog post announcing the release does not mention which console it will be available for, but the reveal video does.
It’s possible that Honkai: Star Rail’s development team had problems getting it to work on PS4, which is why it wasn’t published until PS5 this year. We’ll have to keep an eye on whether or if Honkai: Star Rail makes it to PS4 (or any other console) in the future.

Honkai: Star Rail has updated to version 1.1, bringing new content like quests, equipment, and events. This version also includes several other tweaks and fixes, such as a quality-of-life change that allows players to sprint even after switching characters in Honkai: Star Rail.
