Rockstar has been keeping us in the dark regarding the next core entry in the Grand Theft Auto series, despite the fact that it was stated last year that GTA 6 will be coming. But don’t worry; we have the leakers to tell us what we may expect.
GTA 6 Trailer Leak?
It’s incredible to see how far Grand Theft Auto has progressed from its top-down origins in DMA Design’s debut game back in 1997. Since GTA V was the most successful entertainment product ever (in part because of GTA Online), expectations for its successor are extremely high.
Leaks about Grand Theft Auto 6 have been floating around for years, and the infamous Project America’s release showed that the rumors weren’t completely baseless. Then there came the huge 2022 spoiler, which revealed that the protagonists were siblings, that Vice City will make a comeback, and that there was some iffy video.
Dexerto claims that a GTA 6 announcement trailer is coming shortly, despite Rockstar’s continued teasing of the game till 2023.
SanInPlay claims to have seen the first trailer, which focuses on setting up our relationship with Lucia. For those unfamiliar with the series, Lucia is the female protagonist and one-half of the game’s Bonnie and Clyde-inspired partnership.
San explains in a tweet what we may expect to see in the GTA 6 reveal trailer. This includes dogs having fun on a beach, a lizard crossing the street, and Lucia doing prison workouts. In case you still need convincing, the site mentions that SanInPlay was among the first to get Lucia’s name right.
What Is The Release Date For Grand Theft Auto 6?
Promotional trailers for upcoming projects are great and all, but should we hold out the hope that a release date will be included? Leaks from an early version of the game in 2022 suggest that GTA 6 has been in development for a long time.
We keep hearing conflicting information about when GTA 6 will be released, and it seems like it’s every week. We’ve heard that despite a “turbulent” production process and the possibility of starting over, GTA 6 is being rushed for an early release.

The catch, though, is that after a decade, can something still be considered an early release? We have seen so little from Rockstar that a release in 2023 or 2024 seems highly unlikely. It’s feasible in 2025 or 2026, but we’re sick of speculating at this point.
If Rockstar doesn’t give us the go-ahead and release an official trailer, we’ll have to scour Reddit again to determine which leaks are legit and which are just someone hoping for an upvote.
