Here’s what you need to know about the newest rumors about GTA 6’s release date and gameplay that have been found so far. It’s no wonder that Rockstar Games has spent so much time on GTA 6, given how long it takes to make open worlds of the caliber of GTA 5.
We may not see any official GTA 6 gameplay for quite some time, as Rockstar, like other developers, wants to keep its secrets close to its breast until the game is nearing completion. GTA 6’s early gameplay footage and bits of source code have recently been leaked online.
An unidentified third party gained access to Rockstar’s systems and downloaded data, including open-world game footage in development, according to a statement posted by Rockstar on Twitter. According to the report, developers don’t think this breach should delay future work or affect their live-service games.
GTA 6 Release Date Rumors
According to Tez2, a member of the GTA forums, Rockstars-
“Aimed-always-changing-not-set-in-stone deadline is holiday 2024, which has been pushed back multiple times [over] the past few years. Unfortunately, it could slip into early 2025 as well.”
Tez2 adds that they “personally see an announcement as a given this year.” I seriously doubt that high management can afford another postponement till the holidays of 2025/26. Rockstar’s “cutting more potions of the game to package into DLCs to release later on,” which “may be sustainable for management than delaying further,” is one possible strategy for meeting this goal.
Others within Rockstar have stated that the release date for GTA 6 is still “two years away” and that game will be set in a Vice City-esque Miami with a Latina heroine. When Grand Theft Auto 6 finally arrives, it will cement the series’ place as one of the best criminal games ever.
GTA 6 leaks
One of history’s most significant data breaches occurred on September 18, 2022, when 90 movies containing 53 minutes and 26 seconds of test footage were published online. According to a Bloomberg report from earlier that year, the player in the early test film switches between male and female characters, Jason and Lucia, who form a Bonnie and Clyde-esque pair.
The video’s highlight is a scene in which the user takes control of Lucia and helps her and Jason rob a diner. Some films feature Jason at a nightclub, while others show Lucia monitoring traffic from a street corner during the day.
The leaker of Grand Theft Auto 6 has been apprehended since the clip went public. The 17-year-old suspect has allegedly appeared in a minor court and pled “not guilty” to two counts of computer usage, one relating to the GTA 6 leaks, and two counts of violating his bail, as reported by the City Police.
Two counts of computer abuse and two counts of bond violation have also been filed against the suspect. There will be a hearing later after the case has been submitted to a higher court.
GTA 6 gameplay
The leaked gameplay from GTA 6 doesn’t look that different from GTA 5. Lucia, apparently under the player’s control, is seen holding up a diner and shooting hostages in the back as they try to escape. We also show Jason and Lucia using a stolen automobile to escape the police by taking a circuitous route around the neighborhood.
Jason also uses an assault weapon while leaning out of a moving automobile. As you might anticipate, gamers may get around the city in cars and boats, and the Metro was also mentioned. In addition, drivers appear to be able to customize their driving experience by moving the steering wheel, adjusting their seats, and more.
Some early demo footage reveals further information regarding the game’s mobility mechanisms, such as a cover system, crouching, and crawling. The player character can also shield their head by covering it with their weapon or hands. In one scene, Jason uses his enhanced vision to shop at a convenience store.
It appears to function similarly to Deadeye in Red Dead Redemption, albeit, at this time, we can only see it changing the color of the footage. That wraps up what we know about Grand Theft Auto 6 conjecture. It will be a little longer before the much-anticipated sequel to one of the best PC games is made public.
