The official release date for The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is May 25, 2023. The new Lord of the Rings character from developer Daedalic Entertainment has a solid release date as of today, March 23.
We won’t have to wait long to find out what kind of horrors Mordor has in store for Smeagol, as on May 25, Gollum will emerge from his hiding place. Since the game was delayed from its initial September 2022 release, this is the first confirmed release date for Gollum.
Even though Daedalic originally said the new game would be delayed “by a few months,” the currently planned release date of May indicates that the delay is significantly longer than a few months.
When it finally does come out, though, the new Lord of the Rings game will be available on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One. Currently, Daedalic only says that a Nintendo Switch version is “planned for later this year.”
If you haven’t heard anything about Gollum’s huge adventure, you’ll be in charge of him as he tries to reconcile his two selves, Gollum and Smeagol. Gollum isn’t much of a warrior, so it’ll be up to you to guide him through Orcs and other dangers on his quest for the One Ring.
