It’s not a Final Fantasy game until you have an Ultima Weapon. But that raises the question of whether crafting it in Final Fantasy 16 is worthwhile.
The Ultima Weapon is the game’s most potent weapon, with Damage 700 and Stagger 700, making it nearly twice as powerful as the standard Gotterdammerung.
How to Get the Ultima Weapon?
Obtaining the Ultima Weapon is a complex and time-consuming process, as is characteristic of a Final Fantasy game. First, the weapon is only available in Final Fantasy Mode – the New Game Plus mode unlocked after beating the game once.
Then, players must progress through the majority of the game until they reach Main Quest 59, “Like Father, Like Daughter,” at which point all steps of the 4-part Blacksmith Blues sidequest will be available, which is required to obtain the Ultima Weapon’s main ingredient: Ragnarok.
The Ultima Weapon’s other two components are the “Utterance of Creation” and “Everdark Reforged,” as well as the “Gotterdammerung Reforged.” The Gotterdammerung Reforged is obtained like the original Gotterdammerung from your first run, except that you can construct a considerably better weapon with Damage 625 and Stagger 625.
Similarly, the Everdark Reforged is a more robust version of the Everdark you may build in your first run. Official YouTubers PowerPyx has uploaded a new Final Fantasy 16 (XVI) video to their channel. Accessing the Ultimate Weapon

Is It Worthwhile to Make the Ultima Weapon?
Even though no achievement is associated with making the Ultima Weapon, Completionists consider it the pinnacle achievement in Final Fantasy 16. It is as optional to obtain as it is enjoyable to get. You’d feel like a god slicing through opponents with it, and you can even use it again on your next New Game + run, slashing through little goblins with a god-like weapon.
The thrill of being able to do so is worth it, even if it means going through hell to obtain the resources required to create the gun. You’re already playing New Game +, so you’re almost halfway there. Why not finish the job and claim the game’s most potent weapon?
