Dragon Quest Treasures: A more compact, action-oriented offshoot of Dragon Quest is called Dragon Quest Treasures. As has been customary for some of the Dragon Quest Monsters entries, it features the brother and sister duo of Erik and Mia from Dragon Quest 11 as young children. Treasures originally began as a brand-new installment in that spinoff series.
Dragon Quest Treasures
However, as with many games in the adored series, there are a number of things in Dragon Quest Treasures that don’t make a lot of sense, whether it be a lack of previously expected components, new aspects that don’t get an adequate explanation, or something else entirely.
Dragons, in addition to slimes and Akira Toriyama artwork, are what Dragon Quest is best known for. Strangely, there aren’t any in Treasures, save from the recently discovered Dragling species and its variations.
Given that they are mentioned in the game’s title, these legendary animals should really be expected. It is particularly stranger to leave them out because they are known for hoarding treasure, which is the game’s central plot device. It is stunning not to even include the green and blue dragons that have been there since the first Dragon Quest, however, it would be more tolerable if only some were absent.
Erik And Mia Can’t Cast Spells
Erik has seven magic spells in Dragon Quest 11, despite the fact that he has never been much of a spellcaster. Mia, in contrast, is more of a blank canvas because she only appears in the game’s boss fights and as a background figure for Erik.
It is understandable that Erik lacks spells, but it is strange that Mia does as well. It isn’t apparent whether all people can cast spells or just some of them, in which case only some people would be able to learn magic. Although both characters have MP, it only runs out when they use the daggers to heal themselves.
Erik And Mia’s Exclusive Dagger And Slingshot Usage
Erik is the first party member to join the adventure, although Mia arrives in Dragon Quest 11 but is neither a party member nor a guest character. Along with the dependable dagger, Erik can use swords and boomerangs as weapons in the game. He and Mia can only make use of their magical daggers and slingshots in Dragon Quest Treasures, though.
The question of whether the Vikings who reared the siblings taught them how to protect themselves or if they learned it on their own is also raised by this. On the one hand, the Vikings might not have thought it necessary to instruct them as they intended to lead a life of servitude aboard the ship. On the other hand, they might assist in defending the ship against any prospective intruders.
Where Is Draconia Exactly?
The Kingdom of GreatTree serves as the game’s core town and most significant location, despite the fact that the first Dragon Quest Monsters game included Terry from Dragon Quest 6, it takes place in a different universe.
The setting of Dragon Quest Treasures is Draconia, a collection of numerous sizable islands in the sky. However, given that it’s in the clouds, it’s unclear if it’s simply isolated from the rest of Erdrea, the world featured in Dragon Quest 11. Is it just that the majority of Erdreans are unaware of it, or is it a separate realm that is not related to Erdrea?
Why Display Treasure Outside?
After reaching a particular rank, Erik and Mia’s gang feels secure enough to display their spoils both inside and outside of their base, with mountains of gold and other jewels strewn around. At their base, their monster pals don’t appear to give a damn either.
This seems like a terrible plan. The siblings’ flaunting of all of their assets in the open makes their base a bigger target because other gangs are somehow already aware of their treasure trove before they reach that rank. These gangs wouldn’t make more attempts to steal their loot, right? To protect their riches while they are gone from their base, they should at the very least hire some protection.
How Does Treasure Get Into Treasure Dungeons?
When Erik and Mia are looking for treasure, a teleportal to a treasure dungeon may occasionally open. If they wish to find the treasure they were looking for, they must enter. They will have to combat enemies on numerous floors in order to get the prize. However, it is never stated how the treasure originally passed through these teleporters.
Before Erik and Mia could reach it, did the person who concealed the treasure toss it into the teleportal, or did the monsters there steal it for themselves? Can certain monsters summon teleportations whenever they please? It still makes sense to store wealth buried on the island itself.
Armor, Weapon, And Furniture Treasures Can’t Be Used
Statues of objects and characters from past games as well as various pieces of furniture and equipment are among the rewards in Dragon Quest Treasures. The oddity is that, in addition to being displayed on plinths like all the other treasures, neither the furniture nor the equipment may be used for outfitting or as decorations around the base.
It is strange that the only thing you can do with these treasures is exhibited them in a particular way because it looks like they are actual artifacts rather than statues or reproductions, as other treasures are. Not being able to utilize them to their full capacity feels wasteful.
