Dragon Quest 12: The Flames of Fate has many people excited, but not much has been seen about it. Many people have been in the dark for nearly two years since the announcement of Dragon Quest 12.
The lack of information about Dragon Quest 12 is counterproductive, so that an update may be available soon.
Dragon Quest is a legendary series, and it’s likely the most crucial property owned by Square Enix after Final Fantasy. Even while not all of the games in the Dragon Quest series were localized for international release, they are all well-liked in their native Japan thanks to art by Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama and a distinctive sense of humor.
Some of Dragon Quest’s heroes have appeared as playable fighters in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. The series has also been acknowledged for its impact in shaping the worldview of Yakuza: Like a Dragon’s protagonist, Ichiban.
Dragon Quest 12 Needs a Status Update Very, Very Much
Dragon Quest 12 is currently in the same position as the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto 6. Both games were publicized months in advance, then nothing more was heard about them, leaving fans to wonder what was happening.
The risk of spectators and potential players losing interest or getting frustrated is a significant drawback to this strategy. Several other series, most notably The Legend of Zelda, are also getting new editions, which puts Dragon Quest 12 at risk of being overlooked. Players would benefit from having something to look forward to as they set their expectations, and new information would provide just that.

There’s also the problem of Dragon Quest 12’s historical setting. There has never been a gap of more than five years between two consecutive numbered Dragon Quest releases, starting with the original NES game.
It’s been almost six years since Dragon Quest 11 was released in July of 2017. The absence of information on Dragon Quest 12 is disheartening, given how long fans have had to wait for a game in the series. The longer it has been since the last sequel, Dragon Quest 12, the more overdue it seems.
Dragon Quest 12’s fate is shrouded in mystery, but it should still do well when it finally arrives. Dragon Quest 11 was already one of the most well-liked entries in the series before it was made available on Game Pass.
That excitement may be reignited if Square Enix made a formal announcement regarding Dragon Quest 12 during a major gaming event like E3 or a Nintendo Direct, accompanied by a teaser. Dragon Quest 12 continues the series’ tradition of prestige despite its continued obscurity.
We anticipate Square Enix’s unveiling of Dragon Quest 12 with bated breath. After two years without new information, Dragon Quest 12 isn’t doing much to pique players’ enthusiasm. There is no sign of a slowdown in the sector, and the frequency of significant releases is rising.
The next Legend of Zelda and the DLC waves for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are just two examples of the upcoming slew of significant releases expected in 2023. Some players may have forgotten that Dragon Quest 12 was announced, so Square Enix has seen fit to remind them.
A new Dragon Quest game, The Flames of Fate, is in the works.
