The fact that Ekuegan has completed almost 6,000 Grandmaster Nightfalls, a particularly difficult sort of PVE content, has earned him a certain amount of respect among players. At Bungies’s invitation, he has attended three prior creator summits. He claims he was falsely accused of leaking information about the game’s upcoming season by a Discord user who is actually responsible for spreading the leak.
When asked by Forbes about the “why” of it all, Ekuegan remained steadfast in his explanation: “I’m in so many NDAs [right now], why would I break any? The work requires it of you. Over the course of 14,000 hours, I spent countless hours assisting Grandmaster-level players.
Sometimes this job hurts. I don’t think people realize how attached to folks we are. As a human, not employee: when that trust is betrayed, it *hurts*. Same thing when I was a talent manager: it’s hard when you genuinely care. And we do. Please don’t abuse that trust. https://t.co/qknebcdBIa
