First of all, the sequel features a third-person perspective and a revamped control scheme. Movement and combat are akin to parkour and the Souls games. There appears to be going to be a lot of weaving and blocking going on.

The Ark 2 developers have also promised a Global Event system, which would cause random events to occur all around the planet, not just near your character. In addition, a new Creature Management system, item creation based on components, and an enhanced build system with many more customization choices than the original Ark will be introduced.
