Fire Emblem for Game Boy Advance, the first Fire Emblem game released outside of Japan, will be added to Nintendo Switch Online’s Expansion Pack tier next week, on June 23.
The 2003 game, Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade was the seventh instalment in the tactical role-playing series. After having excellent success bringing developer Intelligent Systems’ other renowned strategy game to a global audience with 2001’s Advance Wars, Nintendo decided to try localizing it for an international release.
Here are some video excerpts from Fire Emblem, which are listed below:
The Blazing Blade introduced the popular character Lyn, who appears as the Emblem of Blazing in the latest game Fire Emblem Engage. It, like all previous Fire Emblem games before 2012’s Fire Emblem Awakening, has character permadeath that cannot be disabled; as the press release puts it, “In this Fire Emblem game if your soldiers meet their end, they’re gone forever.”
